I am so excited to announce my partnership with Melissa Lovy Jewelry as the face of the spring/summer campaign! I discovered Melissa Lovy’s brand last summer and became an instant fan of her sleek pieces. They are the perfect combination of wearable and glamorous which is great for the stylish gal-on-the-go who requires versatility.
When Melissa approached me about the campaign, I was incredibly honored, but full disclosure, I was also nervous to commit. I love collaborating with designers I admire, but one of the lessons I’ve learned in the past couple of years is that it is crucial for me to stay true to myself without compromising my style. I wanted to make sure our visions aligned and we could create something that expressed both of our points of view.
Melissa and I met for breakfast and she showed me the collection piece by piece and I absolutely loved it. We talked about our individual goals for both the immediate campaign and the bigger picture of our careers. Melissa put my fears to rest as she assured me that we would be styling the shoot from my own clothes and I would be wearing the jewelry in a way that would highlight my aesthetic. The brand really caters to individuality as it is composed of classic shapes that can be stacked and layered to suit the wearer’s distinct sense of style. Each look we shot was meant to showcase both the jewelry itself and unique ways to style it that reflect my perspective.
Melissa put together a phenomenal team with Anthony Vazquez as photographer (a true visionary), Shlomit B as hair stylist and makeup artist (aka The Miracle Worker), and Sade Cooper as production assistant (the sweetest southern gal). The entire experience was seamless. Well, almost. In spite of the fact that it was freezing and we were shooting in skimpy attire, there was an unexpected downpour in the middle of the day, and we encountered a massive swat team while trying to shoot on the stairs of the Met, we all had the best time! I can’t stress enough how honest and organic this partnership has been and continues to be. I love being a #LOVYLADY. Stay tuned for more!
