Recycle the Razzle Dazzle
My mission as a blogger is to encourage women to take the lust-worthy pieces they think are impractical and incorporate them into their everyday wardrobes. This goes for the bold accessories--shoulder-duster earrings and glittery sandals, but also for fancy clothes. I'm not telling you to wear your prom dress with sneakers (although that could be cute depending on the dress), but evening separates can be repurposed for a fun daytime look. The obvious way to wear this beaded camisole would be with leather pants and black pumps for a dinner date or girls' night out. Been there, done that. When you really love an item of clothing, you want to be able to wear it in more than one way. I grew up with a frugal father who made me calculate the wears per item to justify the amount spent on it. It could be hard to convince my parents that I would wear silver glitter boots or a patent leather lime green jacket 20 times, but I succeeded. I loved the challenge of finding new ways to wear these aggressive pieces...even when it meant wearing them with my school uniform! Do you have any "special occasion" pieces that you love sitting in your closet collecting dust? Top off that silky maxi with a jean jacket and slip ons, rock an ornate jacket with daytime denim and high tops, and shock your pals by pairing a sequined pencil skirt with a hoodie and leather backpack--so chic for Sunday brunch!
