6 More Weeks...
So yesterday was February 2nd, Groundhog Day, a very special holiday I look forward to all year long with my Israeli bosom buddy, Marissa (check out her blog here if you're into gardening, cooking, spirituality and just damn good writing). At approximately 7:25 a.m. in Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania, our little furry friend Phil saw his shadow, declaring 6 more weeks of winter for all of us! If you live in NYC like I do, you can't even imagine spring will ever come after a day of nonstop snow like today. And we can be sure that when spring does finally come, it will probably be an annoyingly gradual arrival. This means one thing in the world of fashion and accessories: spring coat.
We've been seeing pastel coats since early fall and they are even BIGGER for spring. In fact, pastels are everywhere from mint green jewels, to sky blue sunglasses, to pale pink heels and it seems like they will be sticking around through the summer at the very least. My suggestion to you is to take on Phil's "6 more weeks" challenge in a fabulous pastel spring coat!
I've always thought of a coat as an accessory...it should enhance the look, not hide it! Don't want to bury your gorgeous floral dress or chic white pants suit under a coat? Spring is the season to SLING! Sling your pastel outerwear over your shoulders for added warmth and show off that fierce ensemble!
