Date Night "Just Because"
These days, if my husband and I can manage to stay awake for an entire episode of House of Cards and a medium Pinkberry with Oreos and brownie bites I consider that a date night. I've been so worn out between pregnancy, motherhood, and work that I haven't had much energy for any extracurricular date nights OFF the couch. A couple of weeks ago on a Sunday evening, I got this sudden burst of energy and decided to make a reservation at Pardes in Brooklyn. We had been wanting to eat there for the longest time after hearing about the creative and delicious dishes of chef Moshe Wendel. It was a lovely and unique dining experience from the peanut butter bread to the house made pickles and popcorn to the kosher "B" LT...definitely on the cutting edge of kosher cuisine! Call me fat and pregnant, but I have to say, the highlight of the night was unquestionably the amazing french fries with red wine ketchup and truffle mayo...UNREAL.
To celebrate the occasion of going out "just because," I put on one of my favorite dresses, heels, statement jewels and of course a (faux) fur coat! I bought this dress when I was pregnant the last time, and while it's not maternity, it hangs very nicely over a growing bump and accommodates all the extra fries I can manage to eat. It's also one of those dresses I never seem to tire of no matter how many times I wear it. I just love the juxtaposition of the good girl collar with the bad girl spikes...sweet and saucy! I threw on my spikey Alice and Olivia Pumps to keep the good girl/bad girl theme going. And what Excessories Expert look would be complete without some fabulous Erickson Beamon jewels?! Love these purple and gold earrings from the Family Jewels collection!
