C'mon Kimono
I cannot stress the importance of layering during pregnancy enough. Winter, spring, summer, or fall, layers are a mama-to-be's BFF. When worn correctly, they should emphasize the adorable bump while slimming and lengthening the frame. You're probably thinking I'm off my rocker to even suggest summer-appropriate layers when your body temperature is already off the charts. I am a little loony, but I have also found a keep-you-cool layering solution that promises not to overheat the hot mama. It's time to say "c'mon" to the kimono. The modern kimono is more "boho" than "geisha." It's lightweight, breezy, and exposes just the right amount of pregnancy curves, while masking areas we'd rather not feature.
In the midst of music festival season, there is quite a plethora of options at all sorts of price points--ASOS has even dedicated an entire section to them! The kimono is a great way to show off your stylish personality with tribal patterns, fringe, embroidery, and embellishment! You can even take the look from day to night by layering over a sexy dress a la Nicole Richie. Some of my faves are featured at the bottom of this post.
