Compromise = Excessorize
Did spring always take this long to get here? Not to be greedy on a 50-degree day when the sun is actually shining, but I've already put my coats and sweaters away, and have been looking longingly at all my sandals for far too many weeks. We're caught in between seasons, and frankly I am OVER IT. Because my cool-weather gear has been boxed up or shipped off, I have been struggling with what to wear. If I'm going from A to B in a car, I will withstand the chilly temps with exposed toes and a jacket that is more fashion than function. But what to wear for say, a long walk in the park? One accessory I did not bid farewell to just yet is a heavy scarf. A warm wrap is compromise during the seasonal transition. It can be worn with your lightweight spring jacket to block a cool breeze, and easily removed when you find yourself in the sun. If you're really feeling non-committal, throw it in your (Hammitt) handbag as a "just in case." While a thick scarf is definitely an unwanted excessory in late April, it is the best solution I have come up with to date. Any other ideas?
