You Betch-a
A digital presence never tells the whole story. I often stress out about the fact that in this highly curated, two-dimensional, digital world, people can easily get the wrong impression of one another. I've become an avid snapchat user (follow me! username: ExcessExpert) because I feel like that platform is a window into my actual reality and personality. It's as real as social media can get and that is refreshing. Anyone who knows me personally knows I am always the first one to tell a politically incorrect joke, make unfiltered comments, laugh when I'm not supposed to, and get others to join in and cause a ruckus. I spent most of middle school kicked out of class in the hallway for my disruptive behavior and my husband still hits me under the table when I embarrass him with my off-color remarks.
My funny bone tends to get masked by the flat images I work so hard to curate for Instagram or the passionately written blog posts where I try to convince you that you cannot live another day without a jeweled body piece. That's why I was incredibly excited when Betches approached me to join the Betches Clique. In case you've been living under a rock, Betches is the hugely popular (as in 4.2 million Instagram followers) digital space catered to women with a sense of humor. Famous for blush-worthy, unapologetically snarky posts, Betches always keeps it real and keeps us on the floor laughing. Hopefully the swag they send me from Shop Betches (the Betches retail division offering clothes, accessories, and decor "not for the easily offended"), combined with my charming styling skills will allow you to see a newer, truer side of me. As long as it's still taken through a flattering lens and sent through 7 filters. Kidding. Kind of.
