Thanksgivukah Attire: The Embellished Jacket

This year, the second night of Chanukah falls on Thanksgiving! Do you know what that means? Besides turkey AND latkes of course, it means an excuse to get ultra decked out! A fab jacket is perfect for a family gathering because it can be dressed down with jeans or leather pants and a white blouse or T-shirt.  You don't always need to have your princess ball gown on to dazzle the masses! No need to skimp on the jewels, though.  More is more around the holidays, so pile on the necklaces and the blingtastic earrings! This is your time to *shine* !!

You could also use this day of family gathering as the perfect opportunity to dig through your mommy's or grandma's closet for some amazing vintage beaded jackets.  If they're not hoarders or pack-rats, there's always your local consignment shop or eBay. The detail and intricacy in the vintage garments is on another level.  You may need to make some minor changes (i.e. remove shoulder pads, or take it in a bit), but it will cost you a whole lot less than that McQueen number and it will have sentimental value.
