Excessories Spotlight: Lele Sadoughi

Unless you've been living under a perfectly hand-cut marble rock, you've probably heard of Lele Sadoughi by now. Her home and jewelry designs have graced the pages of Vogue, Harper's Bazaar, Elle, and W, to name just a few, and she's rapidly becoming a household name and topping holiday wish lists everywhere. Though only in her third season, Sadoughi's collection has the kind of maturity that can only come from years of careful craft cultivation and a crystal clear design aesthetic.
Sadoughi first gained recognition in 2006 when she launched the J.Crew jewelry collection. She convinced J.Crew's creative director, Jenna Lyons, that women everywhere would want to wear layers of chunky crystals, or an arm full of fabulous bracelets on a daily basis, with say, jeans and a chambray button-down (Excessories Expert approved!). Sadoughi understands that every woman wants to feel fabulous every day even if they can't afford diamonds or fine jewelry. She made the statement necklace a mainstream must-have and received industry-wide acclaim season after season. She had five successful years with J.Crew before moving on to become Jewelry Design Director for Tory Burch and finally launching her own collection.
Lele Sadoughi's collection is inspired by travel, art, and architecture and incorporates the highest quality custom-cut marble stones, hand-painted enamels, and hand-cut czech crystals. Her inspirations come from everything from galactic themes to ancient Egypt to the fabled Tropicana nightclub in 1950's Cuba. Each piece is truly a work of art that can be appreciated by women as well as men due to her strong architectural lines. The integrity of her designs combined with their affordable price tags make Sadoughi's pieces all the more desirable. Not one item is over $485!!! Although, deciding which piece to choose could prove problematic. I know I'm dying for an arm party of slider bracelets, the Meteor Shower Necklace, the Saturn Earrings, and...gosh, I just want everything! Sadoughi's collection is perfect for excess-lovers, because the more pieces you pile on, the more interesting and fabulous it looks.
