A Mismatched Pair
The new jewelry trend I'm obsessing is driving my symmetry-obsessed husband crazy. I'm taking a hiatus from the glamorous shoulder-duster chandelier earrings I love, and experimenting with edgy, incongruent ear adornments. There is something delightfully youthful about the imbalance of a tiny stud worn with a statement ear cuff, ear crawler, or ear jacket. To better understand my (b)lingo use this visual diagram:
The asymmetrical pair is an excessive essential that is wearable. Believe it or not, I even wear my stud/ear-crawler combo to the gym! You can buy a mismatched pair, or buy a single cuff, jacket, or crawler and pair it with your favorite stud. Change your hair to an extreme side-part to play up the asymmetry, or try a high, tight bun to really show off the jewels. Have multiple holes in each ear? Even better! Three studs in the left ear (maybe a star, a moon, and a lightning bolt) and an ear jacket in the right...now that's a beautifully excessive thing! Shop my picks below.
