Excessories Spotlight: AskAlice Shoes
I had the best time visiting the AskAlice store on Thursday afternoon! They opened the most charming boutique in Nolita at 252 Mott with exposed brick walls and gorgeous coffee table books that provide an amazing atmosphere for their sophisticated, yet playful designs. AskAlice is really the perfect brand for the excessive accessories lover. Each pair of shoes is more beautiful and daring than the next, so I saw several designs right away that I just had to try on!
AskAlice designer, George Mang's understanding of our desire to stand out from the crowd and express our unique sense of style (and EXCESSIVENESS) is strikingly evident from the bold and creative choices he makes with the designs such as vibrant colors (HOT PINK!), cutout details, pattern, texture, and color-blocking (including LEOPARD!), and distinctive shapes. Mang knows we want to be noticed and remembered for our fierce feet!!
I have to tell you that not only do the shoes look super cool, but they are also INCREDIBLY comfortable! AskAlice uses memory foam in the sole to mold perfectly to each individual's foot which makes spending the day in 4-inch heels a surprisingly pleasant experience! I kid you not…these are shoes you can hit the NYC streets in for a shopping marathon…or work a 12-hour day…or even (dare I say) push a stroller 40 blocks... and not have to ice your tootsies after it's all over! The memory foam is a GAME CHANGER!
I love them all, but today my favorite pair in the whole store would have to be the Tart bootie in hot pink. Perfectly excessive for an excessories expert! I can't wait to rock them with leather pants and a fur vest...and my psychedelic paisley dress...and even jeans and a T!
