This post may appear to be directed to the guys, but ladies, you'd better be listening! Whether or not your guy cares about what he wears, I recommend that you take an active role in his style. With the right tools, your man can be your best accessory this winter.
While it is important not to judge a book by its cover, we must all be aware that first impressions are crucial. What is the first item we see on a man as fall turns into winter? His coat. It is neither necessary, nor realistic to look like a GQ editorial 24/7, but a North Face puffer has no place over a suit, no matter how cold it is. In my humble opinion, a North Face puffer has no place anywhere except over scrubs or gym clothes or in an epic blizzard after the age of 30. Grown men need grown up coats. While women look glamorous in their elegant furs (real or faux), men don't have as many options when it comes to keeping warm in freezing conditions. (I just cannot get behind fur coats for guys--I'm talking to you, Joe Namath!) Wool and cashmere look great, but they aren't warm enough for the darkest depths of winter. Last I checked, work doesn't get cancelled when temperatures fall below freezing, so what is a man to wear over his suit to avoid catching hypothermia? Where is the coat that provides the perfect compromise of style and warmth? Apparently, this was a question that had gone unanswered for years. Thankfully, Michael Berkowitz and his team of fellow Wall Street traders decided to make it their mission to figure it out.
Norwegian Wool was founded to fill a very important void in the men's fashion market. Fashion meets function in the form of a winter coat. The waterproof cashmere coats have a down lining to give the feel of a parka, with the tailored look of a dapper topcoat. My husband could not believe how warm it was and I could not believe how sharp it looked! Win, win! From jeans, to suits, to those icky scrubs, Norwegian Wool is topping my list of men's winter essentials this season. It's time to discreetly dispose out that horrendous parka purchased in 1998, and give your guy an upgrade. Because when he looks good, you look even better.
